Are you retargeting your visitors?  Sometimes our clients know they want to advertise, but don’t know where to start.  And although we normally recommend starting with a well configured, highly targeted PPC Campaign as a secondary campaign, we often recommend Retargeting.  Retargeting is a highly targeted form of Banner and other “Content” based advertising, where your ads are served on relevant websites, based on the relevance of the content to the visitor.  However, instead of using this traditional method of targeting, retargeting uses the same ad formats (typically banners), and the same ad placements (ad blocks on various websites your visitors will go to after your site), and then “Retargets” your web visitors, looking to capture their attention to bring them back to your site to convert?

The difference?

These folks have ALREADY VISITED your site.  So with traditional banner advertising, this is done based on “content relevance”, and often this can lead to poor conversion rates, because it doesn’t always yield the most relevant traffic.  But instead, these consumers have already visited your site, and you are simply bringing them back for a second look, as they have already shown some initial interest, and now you have an even better chance to convert them.
